Red Light Therapy in Bryan–College Station
At Restorative Physical Therapy, we offer advanced red light therapy—also known as photobiomodulation—to help accelerate your body’s natural healing at the cellular level. By delivering specific, therapeutic wavelengths of light deep into your tissues, this non-invasive treatment stimulates cellular energy production to reduce inflammation, relieve pain, and enhance tissue repair. This makes it highly beneficial for a wide range of individuals, from athletes seeking faster muscle recovery to patients managing joint discomfort, or anyone simply looking to improve their circulation and overall wellness. During your 10-20 minutes in the bed, you can expect a deeply relaxing, pain-free experience with zero downtime; you simply lie comfortably and let the light do the work, often feeling nothing more than a gentle, soothing warmth. We proudly utilize the Solbasium Helios because it is an elite, commercial-grade system featuring 42,000 high-output LEDs that provide true 360-degree, full-body red light therapy. It simultaneously delivers five clinically validated red and near-infrared wavelengths (633nm, 660nm, 810nm, 830nm, and 940nm) to ensure you receive a consistent, head-to-toe therapeutic dose designed to help you bounce back stronger and move better. This service is available to everyone, not just our patients. Explore our pricing options below or call us today to get set up!

What to Wear
For Maximum Results: Because it is a full-body bed, most patients choose to undergo the session in their undergarments, a swimsuit, or completely nude. Your room is 100% private. Exposed skin yields optimal results. Eye protection is highly recommended. You may provide your own or purchase from a variety of options we offer.
Alternative Options: If you prefer to stay clothed, wear minimal items like running shorts and a sports bra.
Skin Prep: Please ensure your skin is clean and free of makeup, thick lotions, or sunscreens, as these block the light.
Recommended Frequency
For optimal results - 3 to 5 sessions per week to jumpstart healing.
Maintenance & Wellness: 1 to 3 sessions per week to maintain cellular health and metabolic proficiency.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be a physical therapy patient or have a referral to book red light therapy?
No. Our full-body red light therapy bed is open to everyone in the Bryan–College Station community—no doctor's referral or physical therapy evaluation required. Whether you are a current patient, an athlete looking to speed up recovery, or someone seeking natural pain relief and skin rejuvenation, you can book your sessions directly online.
How is your clinical red light bed different from spa LED panels or salon beds?
We use the clinical-grade Solbasium Helios full-body photobiomodulation bed, which delivers 360-degree coverage using high-output therapeutic red and near-infrared (NIR) wavelengths. Unlike small wall panels that only treat one side of the body at a time, or low-powered salon beds, our system sits close to the skin for maximum cellular absorption and features customizable pulsed frequency protocols tailored to specific goals like deep tissue recovery, joint inflammation, or skin health.
What is the difference between a red light therapy bed and an infrared sauna?
An infrared sauna relies on heat (far-infrared wavelengths) to raise your core temperature and make you sweat. Full-body red light therapy (photobiomodulation) does not rely on heat; instead, it uses specific visible red and near-infrared light wavelengths to stimulate the mitochondria inside your cells. This boosts cellular energy (ATP) production, reduces oxidative stress, increases circulation, and accelerates tissue repair without overheating your body.
What conditions and goals can full-body red light therapy help with?
Because red and near-infrared light penetrate everything from surface skin layers down to deep muscle and joint tissue, clients in the Brazos Valley use our bed for a wide range of wellness and recovery goals:
Joint Pain & Inflammation: Calms chronic soreness and stiffness in the knees, back, shoulders, and neck.
Athletic & Muscle Recovery: Clears post-workout soreness (DOMS) faster and improves muscular endurance.
Injury & Post-Surgical Healing: Supports blood flow and cellular regeneration alongside physical therapy.
Skin Health & Collagen Production: Stimulates natural collagen and elastin to improve skin tone, texture, and elasticity while reducing fine lines and scarring.
Sleep & Circadian Rhythm Support: Helps regulate natural energy levels and promotes deeper rest.
Does the red light therapy bed use UV rays or tan my skin?
No. Our red light therapy bed emits zero ultraviolet (UV) light. It will not tan, burn, or damage your skin. You will experience a gentle, soothing warmth during your session, making it a relaxing and completely non-invasive treatment.
What happens during my 30-minute appointment block?
Your session takes place in a private room at our Bryan clinic. While the light treatment itself lasts between 10 and 20 minutes depending on the protocol selected, we reserve a full 30-minute block so you never feel rushed getting changed or settled. Because red light cannot penetrate clothing, undressing to your comfort level exposes more skin and yields the best results. Protective eyewear is provided and ready for you inside the room.
How should I prepare my skin before a session?
Arrive with clean, dry skin. Lotions, sunscreens (especially mineral sunscreens), body oils, and heavy makeup can block or reflect light wavelengths before they reach your cells. If you wear sunscreen or lotion during the day, we recommend wiping it off prior to getting into the bed.
How often should I use red light therapy to see the best results?
Consistency is key because cellular benefits build over time. Many people notice improved sleep, temporary pain relief, and a post-session energy boost after just 1 to 2 visits. For lasting tissue repair, chronic inflammation relief, or collagen production, we typically recommend 2 to 3 sessions per week for the first 4 to 6 weeks, followed by 1 to 2 sessions per week for ongoing maintenance.
